Students will: Analyze data to draw conclusions; Write a reader-response to nonfiction texts; Create a story map for a video game using literary elements; Create a role-playing style video game; Write a feature article to promote an original video game to a target audience.
Learn about the Hero's Journey and write an original hero's story that addresses a problem that matters to you. Then build a website to showcase your fiction and unique solutions with a community of your choice.
Learn about environmental science by exploring the fundamental systems that lead into and out of our homes, including: water, food, biodiversity and energy.
Explore the science behind making and preserving food while building skills in biology and chemistry. Use your new skills to create unique food items to bring to a local market, community kitchen, or community meal.
Research the Civil Rights Movement and develop critical advocacy and networking skills to promote the change you want to see in your community.
