SCIENCE • ARTS
Students will: Use the scientific process to create a variety of food items; Experiment with and write reflective responses about fermentation, emulsification, and pickling; Interview local food purveyors about sustainable food sources; Create a lab-to-table food item and showcase it to community members.
Learn about the Hero's Journey and write an original hero's story that addresses a problem that matters to you. Then build a website to showcase your fiction and unique solutions with a community of your choice.
Learn about environmental science by exploring the fundamental systems that lead into and out of our homes, including: water, food, biodiversity and energy.
Examine bias in media by designing your own retro-style video game that promotes inclusion, while building skills in coding, social studies and language arts.
Research the Civil Rights Movement and develop critical advocacy and networking skills to promote the change you want to see in your community.
